PROPOSED METRO ROUTE FROM HUDA CITY CENTRE TO SECTOR 23 GETS GOVT. APPROVAL
A new hope comes for residents of Gurugram with this good news – proposed metro route from Huda City Centre to Sector 23 gets government approval.
The approval for a metro route spanning over 16 km is one of the latest announcements made by the Haryana Government. The route would connect Huda City Centre with old Gurugram. Also, Huda City Centre is presently the terminal station on the Yellow Line of DMRC.
Destinations included in the new route:
In the initial phases of the project, the metro tracks would be constructed till Sector 23 and in the later stages; the route would be extended to Dwarka.
The plan for the new metro route shows the starting point at Huda City Centre. The route then passes through Subhash Chowk and crosses the NH-8 at Hero Honda Chowk before passing the sectors 9 and 5 to reach the Gurugram railway station.
The following destinations include Sheetla Mata Temple and the Old Delhi-Gurugram Road before rounding up at Sector 23. Almost 19 stations have been planned in the route that would connect major locations in the old city.
A joint effort:
According to the Chief Executive Officer of GMDA, V. Umashankar, the project would be conducted by the joint efforts of GMDA and the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC). He further added that the budget for the project is Rs. 1785 crores and the detailed project report would possibly be completed by the end of November this year.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) submitted reports for two options last year. One of the alternatives was a full-length corridor extending up to Dwarka Sector 21 at the convergence of the Blue Express Line and Airport Express line of DMRC. The other alternative was the newly approved route plan from Huda City Centre to the Gurugram Railway Station.
It doesn’t end here!
The route would be extended in the later stages till Dwarka thereby facilitating a convenient opportunity for Gurugram residents for transportation to the IGI airport. This implies the benefits for real estate developments that might invite the attention of potential real estate clients and investors. With many residential projects emerging in here, this newly approved route would be more of relief rather than a mere means of connectivity.
Sources have also indicated the plans of the state government to connect Gurugram and Faridabad through another metro route. On the other hand, it has also been noted that the project is still in its infancy and would take some time to find a concrete form.
Opportunities for investors:
Many of luxury homes, villas, apartments, ready to move flats in Gurgaon developed by BPTP can make the most of this newly approved metro route. Therefore this new route provides opportunities to investors for putting in their hard earned money. The main reason is connectivity with the nation’s capital that would encourage Gurugram residents to view the real estate purchases as an easy option for safeguarding their investments.
Real estate buyers could also find these properties as a means for staying away from the city’s hustle alongside a feasible option for commuting. The other factors that could incite the attention of investors in residential projects in Gurugram include the possibilities of rapid growth in the area by the expansion of shopping centres and other public facilities in the region.
